*I was provided with an outfit to review from Lift Cycleware in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are as always my own.*
Are you looking for women’s cycling gear that is packed with performance features while making you look great on the bike and in the coffee shop?
Its that time of year when the sun comes out, the Mercury is on the rise, and you’re probably spending more time on the bike trails then in the cycling studio. With the change in weather comes a great excuse to upgrade yous cycling gear for summer.
As female cyclists we have classically had two options, wear kits that wear originally designed for male cyclists, or wear athletic gear that wasn’t designed for cycling. How many times have I heard my athletes complain about looking like a stuffed sausage in their Lycra? lucky for us ladies brands are starting to emerge that understand what it’s like to be a fashionable women in the world of cycling. One such brand that I was excited to come across is Lift Cycleware. Owner and designer Lea Leopold recognized the lack of flattering female cycling gear with all the functionality of your classic cycling kit and decided to get to work.
Lift has a rang of cycling gear looks to help keep you looking cute on the trails and in the coffee shops. From cycling skorts, to flirty pattered knickers there is a little something for every lady in the Lift Cycleware shop. I had Lift send me the mint Spaghetti Tank, the black Navajo Knicker, and the black Trucker Hat let’s dive into the review.
I was extremely exited to test out the spaghetti tank for one big reason, the lose flattering fit. Many of my athletes are mom’s who are working on getting their bodies back after baby, which can take some time. I love that the spaghetti tank has a flattering silhouette even if you are still working on slimming out the “mom tummy.” This is an uncommon cut in cycling gear that I was overjoyed to find.
Hyper Light Performance Fabric
I love the feel of this top, it is light and flowy even after a great sweat session in the cycling studio. And with the flat seems I have had no issues with chaffing.
Pockets Pockets Pockets!
You have three great back pockets on this tank, just like you would find on a classic cycling jersey. I particularly liked that the center pocket has a zipper where you can store important items, or if you happen to by the cycling instructor it’s the perfect place to store your mic.
The Draw Backs
This piece has particularly lose straps. While it has a shelf bra it offers no real support. For me personally I never rely on built in bra’s so this was not a real issue, I layered it with a cute sports bra and hit the road!
What drew me to the knickers were the super cute prints! All of my cycling shorts are black, or the colors of the team kit. I love the current patterns of the knickers, not to mention the perfect length!
These are an extremely comfortable pair of cycling knickers. They fit like a good pair of yoga pants which leaves you feeling sexy instead of stuffed inside a Lycra casing. The cross over waist band is flattering and comfortable even in aero position.
If you didn’t have enough places to store your things in the spaghetti tank then the knickers have you covered. From a back zipper pocket to deep side pockets these pants are ready to carry everything you need.
I love the chamios in these knickers, extremely soft and comfortable. they feel great in the saddle, but with the mid-weight you can comfortably transition to a post ride brunch without feeling like you are wearing a diaper.
This was a fun little extra, I have never really been a trucker hat person but this hat is just too cute, not boxy like many of the trucker hats I have seen. It’s makes for a nice finishing touch to the whole outfit.
One thing I love about Lift Cycleware is their attention to detail, from the little designs inside the tank pockets to the ruching and reflectors on the knickers it is obvious that each peice is made with care.
To really put this outfit to the test I wore it to teach my back to back Tuesday night classes, cycling followed by boot camp. This outfit did not disappoint. I felt great through the ride, the Spaghetti Tank was nice and cool plus I loved the pockets for my mic. After Cycling I transitioned immediately over to boot camp class. My initial concern was how I would feel with the chamois, but once class got going I didn’t even notice it was there!
Lift Cycleware was created to provide fashionable performance packed gear for women, I would have to say they did just that with this outfit. Lift Cycleware will be transitioning to Lift Activeware this fall as they add running and yoga gear to the line up, can’t wait to see what they come out with!
